VRangers Thrilling trek to Bhairavgad (Moroshi) on 6th Jan 2013

While travelling from Kalyan to Malshej ghat a clearly visible sharp wall like pinnacle separated from main range near Moroshi is a Bhairavgad. it is a prominent fort which rises steeply from konkan range making it a difficult and tricky fort to climb.

Trek: Bhairavgad (Moroshi)
Height: 2835 ft.
Region: Malshej.
Grade: Medium.
Max.Participation: 20 ppl.
Last date for reg. 3rd Jan 2013.
Cost: Rs. 500/- (The charges of the trek include breakfast, traveling from Dombivali to Dombivali by private vehicle.)

The top of the fort is created by the geological structure known as a dyke and the final stage on the rock mass is very fascinating. Dykes in Sahyadri are probably representation of fracture into which ancient magma was injected. Non resistant rock got eroded away and the one which were more resistant have appeared as great walls.

Bhairavgad happens to be only fort built on a dyke making it a must see wonder for trekkers. This fort must have been very important as it holds very strategic location looking on the ghat and paths to Mahali and junnar forts range. The exact origin of fort is not known but the style indicates that the fort dates back to Bhoj dynasty. Carved steps are the study point for this hill fort. Water tank at east side is also subject of study, how to preserve the water which is draining from the hill.

  1. I have a Question. That place is considering perfect for trekking but which techniques or precautions we adopt to avoid injury?

  2. Mr. Yassen Nice question and it is very difficult to answer because you cant say / commit that in trekking/adventure activity there no chances of accident.

But to avoid all this before trek we generally give some instructions & knowledge about risky things which we do in trekking (which we dont hav to do).

While climbing like this kind of treks we use some adventure technical things, which reduces chances of accident.

i know question is of two line and answer is off two small para which not clear your doubt/ question.

To Do Trek or Any activity is Life Risk, to avoid all this please learn trekking & adventure skills by your own.

if anything more, you can speak to me directly as i have mentioned my no in plan , if by chance (due to office meetings) i couldn't pick your call then plz text me on my number. .
